HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY TO MACKENZIE TODAY!!

Mackenzie's Birthday Party!

Yesterday, the seventh of December we had Kenzie's 8th birthday party. She seemed to have a blast this year. A few of her friends from school came to the party and she seemed to enjoy having them there with her.

This year she decided to have her party at Pink Swirls here in town. It's a neat little Live Culture Yogurt store. They make all of the yogurt in their store and from what I believe is organic.  All the kids were able to get half a cup of the yogurt and up to three toppings each. I also of course made her some cupcakes and made some tie-dye frosting to on top of them. She loved the cupcakes!

Jerrod and I got her a set of roller blades and she was thrilled she got a pair. She has been wanting some since she went to a friends birthday party at the skating rink a few months ago. She was also thrilled about getting a telescope and guitar. She seemed to have a great birthday party which I'm glad about. Enjoy the pictures!!

Mackenzie's Song

Mackenzie has gotten to love being able to write things down since she can actually read and spell now. Yes her spelling is not perfect but what second grader does have perfect spelling. She's only 7, three months shy of being 8. (She is growing up way to fast!!!!)

Lately she has really gotten into music. She LOVES to sing, she loves to listen to music and she already thinks when she can wants to be in band, like Mom and Dad and lots of her other family members. I think she will also do vocal as much as she loves to sing. She can memorize a song  like no other kid I know. She of course loves Justin Beiber, but she also loves Reba, Rascal Flatts, Glee, and the Beatles.

Lately she has decided to write her own songs. The latest one she has made up she actually wrote the lyrics out and then sang it to Jerrod and I. It's the cutest song I have heard her come up with and am glad she wrote it down so we can always have it. I also got a recording of it, which the link is posted at the bottom of the post for you to listen to her sing the

 song. I was a little surprised she actually sang it for me to record. I didn't think she would do that. I am glad she did though.  I know I did a photo of her lyrics, but here it is in case you can't decipher her writing and spelling:

Let the homework begin!

The first full week of school has come and gone and the girls have gotten really well set into the back to school routine. This week both of the girls have started to have homework come home. I knew of course Kenzie would have quite a bit and luckily it doesn't take an act of congress to get her to work on it.

Kylie had a paper to do yesterday and after we got home and everything out of the backpacks and what not she started on her paper. She was excited for her first paper homework assignment that she had to do. Yes I know, not many kids are excited about homework, but for some reason Kylie was. She got her pencil and hopped up to the table and started to work on it. I had to help her with one side but she did really well on the other side. It took her about ten minutes to do the worksheet and then I started with Mackenzie.

This year on top of spelling Mackenzie will also have vocabulary words and 2 readers to read each week. They will take a test on both of the stories that they start on Monday. She read through them like a champ and had it done after a bit. She can't wait till they get to next weeks story in their hardback reader. It's all about astronauts. All in all it took us an hour to finish homework between the two girls, and that was with Kenzie working on some of hers while I was helping Kylie with hers.


I'm sure once the girls are a little more used to doing homework after school it won't take us as long to finish homework. Today I know for sure Kenzie will have homework. Not sure about Kylie yet. (Mackenzie's teacher puts a newsletter in her students red folder and it contains the weekly homework calendar so we know what needs to be done for homework every day. I love that!) By the end of this week, Mackenzie will have taken 5 tests, read at least 4 books and will enjoy every minute of it.

Girls and School

Well, the first full week of school is almost completely over and the girls still are enjoying going. They settled into a nice routine in the mornings and that makes it so much easier getting them up and to the bus stop.

Kylie is still absolutely fascinated with riding the bus to and from school. She loves it and wishes she was able to do it last year also, but oh well. She seems to love her teacher and enjoys all her friends she has made and the ones she already knew from last year. Her favorite part of the day is getting to eat breakfast in the morning with Adam, her best friend, or boyfriend if you ask her. He waits for her in the cafeteria till the bus drops her off and then they both go and get their breakfast. (his mom is one of the cafeteria workers at the primary school). She even specifically told Mackenzie she does not need her to sit with her and Adam in the morning and that Kenzie can eat with her friends some where else. She wants to eat breakfast with her boyfriend and friends without Kenzie.  (I think it's adorable!)

Mackenzie seems to really like her teacher this year. She's already been to the school library and picked out some books to read and started taking her AR tests that she has to do. (AR = Accelerated Reader) She was told by her teacher to make sure to pick out certain levels of books which she has and has found they are a little harder now. I think she likes the challenge though. She usually does better if she has a challenge. She hasn't started learning science yet but she is patiently waiting for that. I think she will do great in it! She is also glad because on Friday, her class goes to PE with another second grade class that her best friend Aftyn is in. So Fridays, along with lunch and their recesses, she gets to spend PE with him too.

Monday we will all go to the school open house and let the girls show us their classrooms in the evening.  Kylie said they have been working on some projects to decorate their classroom for it but won't ell me what they are. I'm sure they'll be great!!

First Day of School!!!!

The first day of school is over and the girls had a great day! They both got off of the bus with smiles this afternoon and the first thing Kylie said was she had a good day.
Kylie said she really likes her teacher and she had a pretty dress on today. (Go figure she would think of to judge peoples clothes today!) Her special class was P.E. and they had spaghetti and meatballs for lunch. She wasn't happy about lunch since she does not like spaghetti but besides that she had a good day. There are a handful of kids from her pre-k class in her room this year and she sits across from one of her good friends Macy. She was thrilled that she got to play with Adam at recess and see him again. Those two will probably be inseparable during recess this year. She was not happy though that they did not start to learn phonics today. She is SO looking forward to learning how to read!
Mackenzie said her day was really good also. She doesn't have anyone from her first grade class in her class but there is a handful of kids from her kindergarten class that is in her class this year. She really enjoys her teacher, or at least she says she does. I'm sure she does. She likes everybody! She is thrilled that she actually gets to start learning science this year and will have a textbook to keep at her desk and everything. Kenzie also said that tomorrow she will get all her books and her class number that they use to put on all their papers and is looking forward to P.E. tomorrow.
It'll be a great year for the two girls. I will keep everyone updated on their progress!!

No more glasses!!!

I took the girls today for their back to school eye exams.  They went very well and am proud to report Mackenzie doesn't need glasses. She still has a slight astigmatism but it has gotten better in the past year. If we find that during the school year she starts to have trouble we will go back and get a pair of glasses for her. Besides that she has very healthy eyes.  she is excited that she doesn't have to have glasses for the now. Hopefully she won't have to have anymore!!

Kylie did well in her appointment especially since it was her first time to have an eye appointment.  her eyes are very healthy and nothing is wrong with them. Kylie told him that her eyes did hurt when she went outside in the sun so he made sure to tell her he would check on that. He said the reason her eyes bother her in the sun is due to how light colored her eyes are along with how sensitive her pupils are.  they were very sensitive just to the little light he used to check her pupils with. He said that getting just a pair of sunglasses at Wal-Mart or Walgreen's and get her a cheap pair of sunglasses that she can use when she goes outside for now especially when she is playing. She was glad to hear that she can pick out any of them there that she likes. She is hoping she can find a pair of Barbie sunglasses when we go get her a pair.

Gabryle had fun just watching to two this afternoon. He is now just passed out asleep beside me. Apparently seeing the eye doctor is very tiring.

The girls are now all ready for back to school on Thursday. It can't come fast enough for them!

SLOW DOWN!

Where has the summer gone!? It really seems like just yesterday I picked the girls up from the last day of school for year and their summer started. It's July 10 and the girls go for pre-enrollment on August 2, and then school for them will actually start on August 16. Kylie will be a Kindergarten student and Mackenzie will be a Second Grader.

Hard to believe Mackenzie is already going into second grade.  She can't wait either to start second grade. She has already told me who she hopes her teacher will be and who will be in her class with her next year. She hopes her best friend Aftyn, along with Kate, Alivia, Makyla, Kylie and Grant are all in her class for sure next year. Not sure if she will get them all but she hopes she does. Aftyn and Mackenzie were in Pre-k and Kindergarten together and became very close buddies. First grade was the first time those two were separated into different classes.  They were not that happy about it, but they made it work out since they had the same lunch and all three recesses together. They also whenever their teachers needed them to go to a different class if her teacher had a meeting, she would always go to the classroom that he was in, and he did the same also. 


Kylie is so excited that she will be in Kindergarten. I asked her the other day if there was a certain teacher she is hoping for and she said she doesn't really care. We hope she will have the same teacher Mackenzie had for kindergarten since we really liked her. Kylie hopes that Lyndsey, Adam, Macy, Cameron, Cooper, Gavin, Isabella, Gunner, Wyatt, and Delaney all get to be in the same class next year. Of course that is half of her class from last year. She hopes also her good friend William is back next year for school, but I doubt he will be. He and his family moved back to China in the middle of last school year. She was not to happy about it. She made him a card and sent a picture with him before he left. 


In a few more weeks we shall see who gets what teacher and where their friends will be class wise also. Gabryle and I will go back to our routine of being just us two around the house during the day. The girls will actually get to ride the school bus this year since Kylie will Be old enough. (Pre-k students were not allowed to ride the bus last year.)  I think that is what Kylie is the most thrilled about at the moment. She so wants to be able to ride a school bus to and from school.

I have Monsters!!!

I've created a couple of monsters. There are three to be exact. Each of them have their own things they have become addicted too unfortunately. Not really addicted but very very interested in the different things they have become monsters about.

Mackenzie has gotten to be addicted to buying books. It really is a great thing to be addicted too, especially so young I think. We love the fact she loves reading now. She and I got to looking online this morning and found the Harry Potter series she has been wanting on sale for under fifty dollars. If you have priced this book series out, the cheapest we have found it for around town and other places on line like Barnes and Noble and Hastings have been listed for as little as 89.99.  That is the price for all seven books. I happened to be looking on the Box Tops for Education website this morning, entering yet again for the drawing they have to win 10000 box tops for your school and went over to the shop online section. It links you to the different companies that have agreed to give so many box tops per 10 dollars spent on their website. Scholastic Books is on the website and I clicked over to it and we found the Harry Potter series, along with the Fly Guy series she has gotten into reading. She hasn't made her final decision if she wants to buy the books but I think she is leaning more and more towards getting them.

Kylie has become fascinated with us curling her hair in soft foam curlers. She loves that we can curl her hair and it looks like Lindsey. Lindsey is a friend of hers from school who wore her hair curled almost every day to school last year. We've tried it a few ways and found with Kylie's hair, you don't use mouse when you roll it. They fall out faster than anything if you do! We ust make sure it is a little damp, not wet, but damp and roll it up before bedtime. She sleeps in them just fine and then we take them out after breakfast the next morning and she has the most beautiful soft curls. I think she also likes it becuase it also looks a little like Taylor Swift's hair when she has it curled in the ends. (She is a big Taylor Swift fan as of a few weeks ago.)

Gabryle has become fascinated with loose change. Pennies, quarters, dimes and nickels. We haven't bought him a piggy bank yet so he hasn't had a place to put the change he finds, so I took an old bottle that I cut a slit out for change I find in the dryer and let him have it. He was thrilled!!! He keeps his pennies and quarters that he has in it and has found it is fun to sit all day and take the coins out then put them back in. It also appears he loves to sit and just shake the plastic bottle with the coins in it. He loves it, I hate it.!He has learned though if there is a coin in the floor for some reason to grab it as soon as he sees it and puts it in his coin bottle. That's the rule for the kids. Who ever picks it up out of the floor gets to keep it in their piggy bank.

Maybe next week they will have new fascinations. We shall wait and see!!

FIELD TRIP!!

It was a busy day for Mackenzie and I today. Today all of the first grade classes at school, plus one kindergarten class got to go to the Jasmine Moran Children's Museum. It was a lot of fun! I could have done with out the rain and wind while we were driving up there but besides that it was a really good day for us. All together there were 120 students from our school that attended. All but 20 were first graders.

It was the first time I had been to this museum and I have to say that it was worth it! Mackenzie and I  went around to the different areas of the museum with 2 of the little girls from her class. they were very well behaved and we had a fun. I think their favorite areas were the bubble area and the water station. They also spent a lot of time in the Emergency Room area that was set up there.

The people who designed this museum I think did a great job. I hope we soon take all the kids to go play there. They have stuff Gabryle can do and I'm sure he would be thrilled playing on some of the things they have. I bet Kylie would love doing all of the doctor stuff and using the art center.

Watch out for your loose change..

 Well, it is that time of the year again. Mackenzie is searching through the house trying to find as much change as possible. She's looked under the big appliances, sofa cushions, cleaned her piggy bank out and scavenged the coins out of the car. All of them have gone straight into her little cardboard box she received at school today.

Every year the school the girls go to have a week where they raise money for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society. I'm not for sure how long the school has been doing the fundraiser, but since Mackenzie has been going they have done this every year in the beginning of February. (This is our third year to participate.)

Mackenzie came home today and after we worked on part of her homework and before she started doing dishes, she went and searched through the house to find some loose change. She cleaned out her piggy bank and went in and looked and pulled all the change out from under the washer and dryer. She even went and got all the pennies out of the car cup holders. She is determined to find as much change as she can before she turns in her box on Friday. Last year she raised 3-4 dollars all in loose change.

Kylie is participating also this year. She doesn't seem to be as concerned in finding pennies to put in her box. She was telling me about it while we were waiting for Mackenzie to get out of school today, and all Kylie mentioned was that she has a box to put some money in and take back in a few days and give to her teacher. Since she hasn't seemed to be as into finding change to put in her box, Mackenzie has taken it upon herself to split the money she finds with Kylie so at least she can turn something in.  

While Kenzie was explaining to me what the money goes towards, she looked at me and says "this sickness is kind of like cancer and can make you loose your hair. We need to get them lots of money so they can get better."  It never fails with Mackenzie, when she knows she can do something to help someone else, she is all about making sure that something gets done to help.  She has an awfully big heart for a 7 year old.

We'll see how much money the girls can find this year to turn in and post it. maybe this year Mackenzie will find more change than last year!!

Today Mackenzie got to make bread in a bag in her class. Yes I will admit I had never heard of it till her teacher said something about it when we ran into her  at Walmart a few days ago, but it is pretty neat.
I looked up online the recipe and have it included below for those of you who would like the recipe.

Mackenzie told me she was partnered up with a friend of hers and they started to make the bread. Her teacher had everything measured out and they just followed what they were instructed to do and mixed it in the big Ziploc bag that they had.

They did all of the mixing and resting of the dough in their classroom and when it was time to bake the bread they took the sacks of dough and the little pans to the school cafeteria .They used the ovens in there to bake the dough (Of course her teacher and her aide did the baking part, but the kids still had fun getting to help). Mackenzie told me the bread made the whole school smell great earlier while it was baking.

As she came out of her classroom and into the pickup area after school Mrs. Moore, her principal, was glad to see the bread came out so great. It smelled great on the way home and we all tried a piece after we got into the house. (Kenzie had already had a piece while at school, but wanted to share with the rest of us.) The bread tastes really good. I love wheat bread!

I'll have to use this recipe on a rainy day with the kids to give us something to do. You usually can't go wrong with a good loaf of homemade bread!!!

Recipe for Easy Wheat Bread
Mix in a heavy-duty (freezer) plastic bag:
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 package active dry yeast or fast-rise yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup warm water (105° to 115°F)

Close bag, release air and work with fingers until completely blended. Let rest 15 minutes.

Open the bag and add:
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup warm water (105° to 115°F)

Mix well until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bag--about 5 minutes.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 5 to 6 minutes. Knead in just enough flour to make a soft dough; it should be a little sticky. If too much flour is added, the final product will be dry and low-volume. Divide dough into thirds. Cover with plastic bag. Let rest 10 minutes.
Press the dough out flat with fingertips into a 4 x 6-inch rectangle. Beginning at a short end, roll the rectangle up tightly like a sleeping bag. With fingertips, pinch the edge to the rest of the dough forming a seam. Fold over the two ends and pinch.
Place dough, seam-side down, in pan.

Cover with bag and let rise until doubled, about 45 to 60 minutes. Bake in a preheated 350°F to 375°F convection oven 15 to 18 minutes; or in a 400F conventional oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
Remove from pans; cool on wire rack.

Bounce House Party

 Here in town there is a cool little business that is fairly new that deals with parties and bounce houses. They have four bounce houses that I counted that were up in the large room, plus a little pop-up tent. Then in the back they have a party room, with tables and chairs set up so you can have a private party.  The woman who owns and operates it also does face painting for the kids if you purchase that package. She is very talented. I ended up driving by it about three times before I realized I was passing it each time and looking straight at it. It wasn't marked the greatest on the outside. I glanced over and at the last second as I passed it the last time I saw the sign in the window with the name of the place on it. I went back around the building and finally parked across the street.

Mackenzie got to attend a birthday party for a friend there today. She had a blast!! For over two hours they played in the bounce houses, had cake and juice, and watched her friend open her presents.  They also go their face painted, as you can tell from the picture. Mackenzie was so proud of her butterfly face paint. From the way the girls were all playing when I picked Mackenzie up it seemed they all had a blast. They were still eating cake and getting ready for the pinata when I showed up so I let Mackenzie finish up the party and help with the pinata.

I would have never of thought to put up four or five bounce houses in a building with a private party room to rent out to people to have parties. It's a smart idea. Could be worth looking into for one of the kids birthday parties in the future. Hope you enjoy the pictures of Kenzie in her face painting. She is sure proud of it!!

Mackenzie Birthday

Well, today Miss Mackenzie turned 7. She seemed to have a great day today. We spent the morning and early afternoon doing some things around the house that needed to be done then at 4 headed over to where we were having her birthday party.

This year we decided to have it at Pizza Hut, which turned out great. Kenzie invited 7 of her friends from class, (all the girls), and 4 of them were able to make it today. Kenzie was thrilled! Some family members even came which made the party even better. We ate pizza, opened presents, then had some cake. After the cake Kenzie helped pass out the treat bags to her friends and cousins and then gradually people started to head their own ways.

Mackenzie seemed to have a blast and that's the important thing. She was thrilled we got her a little Ipod Shuffle and a few songs to put on it. She was even more thrilled when she found out that we got her some Justin Bieber songs to be put on it. She also loved her cake that I made her. She said it turned out just like she wanted too. The Guitars and stars on the top were a hit with the kids too. All of the girls wanted a guitar to eat. I should have made more than 4! Luckily between the guitars and stars there were enough for the kids and they weren't too disappointed.
 Tomorrow she will have cupcakes and some little juice pouches at snack time in honor of her birthday today to have a little "party" in her classroom with all of her friends. After that her birthday celebrations will come to an end. Of course she will go and spend her birthday money, but as for celebrating we will be through.

The finished stars and 7's

 Well, I finished most of the decorations for Mackenzie's birthday cake yesterday. I think they turned out great. I am especially proud of the guitars that came out great. I haven't put any strings or details on the guitars yet but hopefully I will soon!

Kenzie has already picked out her 2 favorite guitars and want them to be the center piece of the cake decorations. She also loves the number 7's I was able to make. She's still debating on which one of those she would like me to use. All of the stars she says are good so we can use which ever ones we want along with any of the polka dots I made. (I had some left over royal icing so I just made some dots. If I don't use them for Kenzie's cake I can use them on some other cake in the future.)

I'll let them dry for a few more days then store them till I am ready to use them next Saturday when I make her cake. I'm going to try a new recipe later this afternoon for a cake to see if she likes it and if she does use it instead of the normal cake I use. If it's good I'll make sure and post the recipe for you!

Best-est Friends

As Mackenzie and I were running an errand earlier this evening she was telling me about one of her friends. His name is Aftyn. He is not just her friend, but her best-est friend as she put it. As I was driving she was telling me that she played with Aftyn at her recesses today so I asked, is Aftyn your best friend. Her reply was "Aftyn is my best-est friend. I play with him almost every school day, except for when he is sick or if I ever get sick. If he is sick I usually sit on the sidewalk and watch the other kids play." I thought it was sweet but a little sad at the same time. 

She and Aftyn were in pre-k and Kindergarten together. This is the first year they have been separated in classes. They were inseparable last year in kindergarten and I bet if they were in the same class this year, they would be inseparable again. They play vampires a lot during recess and I believe what they call werewolves. She told me today that during recess they like to have races, but Aftyn is way to fast for her. Sometimes he will hold her hand while they run so they can win together. 

I think its cute how she thinks Aftyn is her best-est friend. Last year she always called him her boyfriend and told us that she would marry him. She has many many friends, don't think otherwise. Mackenzie has friends with kids in all of the other first grade classes, and then also in second grade and I believe a few third graders. All three of our kids are very likable. I guess that is why all the neighborhood kids love to come play with them.

This week at school for the girls it is Red Ribbon Week. Each day they have different themes that the kids can dress up too and the girls were thrilled about today, crazy hair/crazy clothes day. We painted the girls nails yesterday, and then today they wore their shirts inside out, and Mackenzie wore two different flip flops. Kylie wore crazy socks  and that was the end of it for her.

Kenzie decided we should do her hair crazy also, so I put it in 3 loose buns. One on each side and one in the back. She was just going to go to school without doing anything to her hair but since I got the braids too tight, they didn't mess up in the middle of the night so we figured something else out. She also tried wearing her pants inside out but since she could not button or unbutton them she decided not to do that. She even tried wearing a pair of shorts over her pants but didn't like the way it felt. Kylie's hair we just did 2 of the loose buns since her hair is not as long or thick as Kenzie's.

Each day they even do a competition to see which class dressed the best to the theme of the day. Yesterday was beach day, and Kylie's class won for the best dressed in the beach theme. Her class also won the Rid Ribbon door or wall poster contest. They made a large ribbon and each child signed their own name to be drug free. I'm not sure what Kenzie's classes poster looks like since I don't pass her class to pick either of the girls up from school. Hopefully I'll see it Monday when I go to help with Kenzie's classes' Halloween Party.

Tomorrow is Nerd Day. Not sure yet how we will dress if they want to for it but I'm sure we will find something interesting to wear along with it. Thursday is '80's attire, and then Friday is show your Spirit Day. Kenzie already plans on wearing jeans, her school shirt and maybe trying to find a way to add more spirit. I bet Kylie will wear her school shirt also if I can convince her that is still looks really cute on her even if it is big on her. I'll try to post more pictures as I get them!

Mackenzie..

I have a big order to fill coming up in December. Mackenzie's birthday will of course be in December and she asked me if I can make her birthday cake this year, which I will gladly do for her. I enjoy doing the kids their cakes, and it saves money in the long run when I make them at home. I just find decorating the cakes is fun and you can be as creative with it as you can.
She told me today while we were out in a store looking around that she wants her cake to be round. It also needs to be two or three levels, with a real big cake on bottom and a medium cake and perhaps a small cake, but the big and medium cake for sure, with the medium cake on top of the big cake. (duh). She didn't say what type of cake or what to decorate it as yet, but for sure we know it must be circles. She has liked polka dots for a while now so that is not a big shocker there.
As we were driving home from the city she started giving us ideas of what she would like for her birthday, and then Kylie suggested she should have a Horse party as much as Mackenzie Loves horses! I think she finally decided that she would like a horse party, which would be neat to do. Jerrod had a great idea if we do that, to do the cake in green, like grass, and then put some miniature horses around the cake, which would work really well and look really cute too! She also wants this year to actually do a party that her classmates can come to also, so we'll work on that also. Not sure what all we will do yet but we still have plenty of time to figure that out!
Tomorrow she wants to look at cake ideas online so I bet we can look and find some ideas once she nails down what her party theme will be. We will have fun no matter what she decides to do.

Can we rewind please?

What a day yesterday! Our day here started out normal, but turned out to be a little scary. Jerrod took the kids off to school so they could eat breakfast as they have been and he headed to work. I fed Gabryle and started on some dishes and then the phone rang....
The school called and said that our daughter was in the office and was hyperventilating and collapsed at school and was in the nurses office and we needed to come get her. I immediately called Jerrod and he headed up to get her. when he got there she tried talking but she couldn't get any words out and he could tell she wasn't doing to well. She couldn't use her right arm or leg and actually collapsed at school coming out of the bathroom before heading to the nurses office. He rushed her up to the ER and they got her back right away. They ran their blood tests and when they came back normal did a ct scan which came back normal. Needless to say she started getting better and the ER pretty much came to the conclusion that she just had a stomach bug. Jerrod and I however thought of it to be a migraine. She had all of the symptoms Jerrod has when he has a migraine. She was released and we went home. She slept the rest of the afternoon and woke up around dinner time and ate dinner. She had a headache the rest of the evening and it eventually wore off.
We took her today to her regular physician and explained to him what went on. All in all he did not concur that it was a stomach bug and has decided if she has another episode like what she had yesterday we are to get her to the er and while in the process of doing that call HIM so he can get an MRI and another Brain Imaging Scan done while she is still having her symptoms so we can see if anything shows up on the scans.
All in all yesterday was very un-nerving. I did talk with her teacher and ultimately she was not feeling well through breakfast either. One of the lunch ladies noticed she wasn't using her hand as she normally did. When Kenzie got to class shew as crying and her eyes red and told her she just did not feel right, so Mrs. Rayburn said she can go to the bathroom and then head to the nurse's office. She got to the nurses office but had to be taken by the janitor who happened to be at the right place at the right time. She was right by the bathroom as Mackenzie came out and just collapsed. I'm in a way glad Kenzie doesn't remember all that what happened, but it kind of makes it more scary that she can't remember everything.
To top that off one of her good friends was in a car accident and ended up passing in the middle of the night last night. The school called and mentioned to me what happened so we could let Mackenzie know. She is sad about it and made a card for the girl's family. We've talked about it and she knows there are people at school she can talk to and of course, she can always talk to either of us or anyone in the family.
Ultimately, if I had a rewind button I would have pressed it already and gone back and maybe kept Kenzie home or something. Of course how were we to know she was going to end up collapsing and everything? Might have never known.....
